Meet the Doctors
Dr. Steven Mitchell
Originally from Nottingham in the United Kingdom, Dr. Mitchell received his undergraduate degree at Manchester Metropolitan University, his dental degree at Birmingham University, and his post-graduate training at the University of Florida. Dr. Mitchell has practiced dentistry since 1996 and has worked at Atlantic Dental since 2004.
Active in his profession, Dr. Mitchell belongs to the American Dental Association (ADA), American Academy of General Practice, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS), Florida Dental Society of Anesthesiology (FDSA), and Florida Dental Association (FDA). Because he feels passionately about dentistry and patient comfort, Dr. Mitchell has taken advanced training in IV sedation.
Dr. Mitchell and his wife have three children, two boys and one girl. To relax, Dr. Mitchell enjoys quality family time, traveling, learning new languages, scuba diving, and movies.
Dr. Todd D. Watson
Dr. Watson was born in Flint, Michigan. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan-Flint and graduated from the University of Michigan Dental School in 1994. For eight years, Dr. Watson worked in private practice in Michigan until he relocated to Florida and joined Atlantic Dental in 2002. His professional memberships include the American Dental Association (ADA), Florida Dental Association (FDA), and Michigan Dental Association.
Happily married to wife, Mary, since 1992, they reside in New Smyrna Beach. In his spare time, Dr. Watson likes cycling and outdoor activities.

Sarah, Front Desk Associate
Having completed her associate’s degree, Sarah is now working on her bachelor’s degree. Sarah loves the activity in the office and greeting patients as they arrive for their appointments. A newlywed, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband, watching, movies, and playing cards.
Patricia, Registered Dental Hygienist
Patricia, our Registered Dental Hygienist, brings 39 years of experience to her role in this practice. She helps our patients feel comfortable about their dental treatment and appreciates the chance to impact their overall health. A single mom to twin girls, Patricia is also Nana to Orion. Her hobbies include friends, family, pets, and plants.
Veronica, Registered Dental Hygienist
The newest member of our hygiene team, Veronica has spent 30 years as a dental hygienist. Veronica loves educating our patients and seeing them reach their oral health goals. Close to her mother and sister, Veronica also likes to ride motorcycles.
Dawn, Certified Dental Assistant
Dawn has worked as a certified dental assistant for 10 years and has spent nine years here with us. She appreciates the Christian values of our practice and likes the opportunity to interact with a diverse population of patients. Married to husband, Shane, they have three beautiful children.
Tracey, Dental Assistant
During four of her nine years as a dental assistant, Tracey has worked in our office. She likes the family-oriented atmosphere and working with the whole team. Tracey and her husband of 10 years have three children. Her hobbies include shopping and boating.
Helen, Dental Assistant
Helen has a bachelor's degree and 20 years of experience in the dental field. She has assisted our doctors in creating healthy smiles for eight years, and she loves our family-oriented practice and trustworthy team. Over the years, Helen has developed lasting relationships with our patients and values the opportunity to help people maintain optimum oral health as their dental needs change. Helen and her husband, Bill, enjoy spending time with their sons and grandson, and Helen's recreational activities include going to the beach, motorcycle riding, and gardening.
